In the interest of supporting the great cause of procrastination, I bring you a list of random thoughts!

• Mosquitoes find my elbows to be really tasty this weekend!
• I am foolishly editing fiction in the wrong file (i.e. not my master file). I’m a rebel or something.
• I have very pretty hot peppers.
• Writing drafts in pencil is fine. Writing drafts on both sides of the page is fine. Writing drafts in pencil on both sides of the page results in a lot of blurry smudges.
• I suspect the McCain campaign picked Sarah Palin as the VP candidate because Tina Fey will be able to impersonate her flawlessly on SNL.
• Little “helpful” animated Microsoft Word dohicky? Go away and don’t come back! I know I’m hitting the “help” key but I’m not actually calling for you. I’m missing the delete key because the proportions of this keyboard are a little off. Stop it, go away!
• So my latest cheap-ass keyboard lasted well over a year. I think it might be safe for me to spend more than $12 on a keyboard again.
• This means that yes, my cheap-ass keyboard died. Specifically the space bar stopped working consistently. Since this weekend has been all about writing, I swapped in my spare keyboard. Luckily a quick Google search reminded me how to get my CD drive to open when there’s not a disk in it already. (F12 if you’re curious, Mac OSX users.)
• I’ve become very accustomed to having volume controls on my keyboard as evidenced by the frustration I’m feeling with the spare keyboard.
• It may be time to upgrade my copy of Microsoft Word. I’m still using Microsoft Word X which was released almost 10 years ago. It’s getting a little forward with how it formats and reformats things as I type.
• It might sound lame but my fingers actually started to tingle as I typed the address of the grad program to which I’m sending my portfolio. Cross your fingers for me. I hit “send” at 1:12 a.m. Eeeeeeee!

So, not feeling well this afternoon, I went back to bed around 2:30 complete with pajamas. I read for a bit, because I’m incredibly hooked on my current book. Then I read for a while longer, despite not being able to actually keep my eyes focused for very long. Finally I put the book down and slept until 7:30 or so. I can’t say it felt like great sleep but it was good enough sleep. I got up and had popcorn for dinner. Now I’m contemplating going back to bed soon. Maybe I’ll watch an episode of something on my computer just to give the useless Tylenol a chance to kick in. I want to finish my book! There are 2 more in the series! I just have to be careful the next couple nights not to stay up too late reading it.

That is all… tired now.

Pre-hurricane skies are always painfully beautiful. The moments in the eye, which we didn’t get around here, are fragile and beautiful. Post-hurricane skies are even prettier. The sky today looked like it had cried all night and then woken up spent but still in pain – that pretty clear blue with a touch of yellow – no clouds, a pale moon, just lovely.

The flight was unremarkable, thankfully. The hotel is boring. Terribly dull. But the hair dryer in the bathroom is better than the one I have at home. This is about how exciting my Sunday evenings get when I’m traveling for work. I did get here early enough to wander through Mystic Village while it was still open. It wasn’t a terribly remarkable experience but there were a couple neat shops.
