IMG_3167.JPGIt’s not all about kittens here at the ranch. It’s *mostly* kittens, but there also beads.

I played with beads and wire last night, making some pieces for viking treasure necklaces. It was fun! I need to figure out better ways to tuck wire ends in out of the way. I also need to contain the beads better while I’m working with them. I think there are a dozen little beads under my desk.

Things I figured out last night:

  1. 20 gauge copper wire doesn’t like to be strong-armed. In fact, it’ll break.
  2. 26 gauge copper wire is much more resilient.
  3. Adhesive that warns that it may burn skin on contact? Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t use that stuff.
  4. Dumping acetone on your fingers to remove adhesive? Turns what’s left of clear nail polish (well, clear with silver glitter) opaque.
  5. Memory wire is cool stuff.
  6. Beads are fun stuff. Okay, I already knew that.
