In the interest of supporting the great cause of procrastination, I bring you a list of random thoughts!
- Mosquitoes find my elbows to be really tasty this weekend!
- I am foolishly editing fiction in the wrong file (i.e. not my master file). I’m a rebel or something.
- I have very pretty hot peppers.
- Writing drafts in pencil is fine. Writing drafts on both sides of the page is fine. Writing drafts in pencil on both sides of the page results in a lot of blurry smudges.
- I suspect the McCain campaign picked Sarah Palin as the VP candidate because Tina Fey will be able to impersonate her flawlessly on SNL.
- Little “helpful” animated Microsoft Word dohicky? Go away and don’t come back! I know I’m hitting the “help” key but I’m not actually calling for you. I’m missing the delete key because the proportions of this keyboard are a little off. Stop it, go away!
- So my latest cheap-ass keyboard lasted well over a year. I think it might be safe for me to spend more than $12 on a keyboard again.
- This means that yes, my cheap-ass keyboard died. Specifically the space bar stopped working consistently. Since this weekend has been all about writing, I swapped in my spare keyboard. Luckily a quick Google search reminded me how to get my CD drive to open when there’s not a disk in it already. (F12 if you’re curious, Mac OSX users.)
- I’ve become very accustomed to having volume controls on my keyboard as evidenced by the frustration I’m feeling with the spare keyboard.
- It may be time to upgrade my copy of Microsoft Word. I’m still using Microsoft Word X which was released almost 10 years ago. It’s getting a little forward with how it formats and reformats things as I type.
- It might sound lame but my fingers actually started to tingle as I typed the address of the grad program to which I’m sending my portfolio. Cross your fingers for me. I hit “send” at 1:12 a.m. Eeeeeeee!

I had the peppers this weekend. I am still recovering from their pepperocity.
Random Advice:
Wiping eyes THREE hours after cutting peppers AND after washing hands THREE times is still not recommended
Microsoft + helpful = sarcasm.
Try to avoid buying cheap when buying something that you touch EVERY day and could lead to wearing funny arm bands with hidden ice packs inside of them

I think prior to the new release of Office for Mac Word X was the only previous version of Word Available…
Save yourself the pain… Open Office FTW…

@Leigh: I think there have been at least 2 updates, but I haven’t paid close attention. I used Word 5.1a from 1993 on through… 2000 or 2001, so I guess 8 years is about right for me to upgrade again.
